Picked up where you handed in the papers. The card is printed on the spot.

Pick up the finished card at the Dirección de Licencias de Conducir — the same place where you handed in the documents.

How it goes on the spot

  • How it went for the person who took the test in Maldonado in 2026: straight after the practical test they drove to the same Licencias de Conducir office, handed in the papers, had the photo taken on the spot, waited about ten minutes for the printing, signed for the card and left with it. No need to bring a photo of your own.
  • The caveat without which the experience does not carry over: she arrived right after the test, that is within office hours. Whether someone whose test ended later would make it, the interview does not say.

Important

  • About the duplicate the IDM says outright: «se sugiere ir con tiempo prudencial para que sea posible abonar y retirarse con el duplicado impreso en ese mismo día».
  • The intendencia has never published a picture of a card issued in Maldonado itself.
