Book a slot to pick up the card: the Licencias de Conducir agenda
Pick up the card at the Dirección de Licencias de Conducir, where you handed in the documents. Not issued on the day of the practical — book another day online in the office agenda: three steps, laid out below.

How it goes on the spot
- How it went for the person who took the test in Maldonado in 2026: straight after the practical test they drove to the same Licencias de Conducir office, handed in the papers, had the photo taken on the spot, waited about ten minutes for the printing, signed for the card and left with it. No need to bring a photo of your own.
- The caveat without which the experience does not carry over: she arrived right after the test, that is within office hours. Whether someone whose test ended later would make it, the interview does not say.
- For the site owner’s wife, who took the test in Maldonado, it went differently: after the practical the card was not issued that day — the queue was long. She booked online on gub.uy for the next day, picked «Primera vez» in the Trámite field, came at the booked time and picked it up. Both cases are real: issue on the day of the practical happens, but is not guaranteed.
- The office has no separate booking for picking up the card. The «Iniciar Trámite en Línea» button on gub.uy leads to the general Licencias de Conducir agenda, and its booking form offers five kinds of procedure, none of them for pick-up. Which one to choose to come for the card is not stated officially.

Important
- How to book: the link to the agenda is at the top of the page. Step 1: pick the «Licencia de Conducir» resource — there is only one.
- Step 2: a free day and time in the calendar. The office sees people from 9:15 to 14:45.
- Step 3, «Datos necesarios»: Trámite, document type and number, first name, last name, phone, license category and accepting the terms. It is the same form as when booking the document visit.
- Email is optional in the form, but without it the booking confirmation stays only on the screen.
- About the duplicate the IDM says outright: «se sugiere ir con tiempo prudencial para que sea posible abonar y retirarse con el duplicado impreso en ese mismo día».
- The intendencia has never published a picture of a card issued in Maldonado itself.
