Come to the Dirección de Licencias de Conducir with the agenda previa from step 1. Show your identity document and the constancia de aptitud psicofísica — the fitness certificate — and pay the fee. Both exam dates are assigned right after payment.

What to bring
Original and photocopy of the identity document: valid foreign passport or Uruguayan cédula, in good shape. Mercosur passport not in Spanish, with a translation
You carry the life of your file away on paper: the tirilla they hand out at the office — the printed slip from the counter — starts with the field «Vencimiento Trámite», the date up to which the file is valid. No need to remember the 180 days separately, but it is worth checking the date right at the window.

How it was paid in practice in 2026: at the counter they gave him the payment details, and the payment itself was cash at Abitab, the bill-payment chain. Nothing was paid by card on the spot. The sum paid was 2,393 UYU, so the official fee matched a real payment. The agency describes the payment procedure nowhere — this is one case.
Important
There is no separate booking for this step: you come with the agenda previa from step 1, on the day and hour chosen there.
The money paid to a private clinic is NOT deducted from the fee — gub.uy says so outright.
Both exam dates are assigned when you pay, not at a separate step later. Montevideo works the other way: there the practical is assigned only after you pass the theory.
The rate is the same for everyone doing a category A primera vez and does not depend on how long you have driven — unlike renovación (renewal) and reválida (recognition of a foreign license).
