Go to the Dirección de Licencias de Conducir on the agenda previa booking from step 1, show your ID and the certificate of psychophysical fitness, constancia de aptitud psicofísica. Pay the fee, go back to the office: the exams are set there.

Original and photocopy of the identity document: valid foreign passport or Uruguayan cédula, in good shape. Mercosur passport not in Spanish, with a translation

Cash or a physical card: the fee is paid at Abitab or RedPagos — payment collection networks
You carry the life of your file away on paper: the tirilla they hand out at the office — the printed slip from the counter — starts with the field «Vencimiento Trámite», the date up to which the file is valid. How it was paid in practice in 2026: at the counter they gave him the payment details, and the payment itself was cash at Abitab, the bill-payment chain. Nothing was paid by card on the spot. Important
There is no separate booking for this step: you come with the agenda previa from step 1, on the day and hour chosen there.
The money paid to a private clinic is NOT deducted from the fee — gub.uy says so outright.
The exams are scheduled at the office after payment, with no separate booking. Montevideo does it differently: there the practical is scheduled only after the theory test is passed.
The rate is the same for everyone doing a category A primera vez and does not depend on how long you have driven — unlike renovación (renewal) and reválida (recognition of a foreign license).
The intendencia phone 4222 3333 is information only: you cannot book on it.
